Description: Temasek Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 3 January 2012 with the Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC) to partner a flying programme for students pursuing the Diploma in Aviation Management & Services (AMS). The partnership allowed students to obtain their Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and strengthen their interest in pursuing a flying career, the first- of-its-kind for a diploma programme in Singapore. Description: Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education, officiated the launch of Temasek Polytechnics (TP) Advanced Manufacturing Centre (TP AMC), on 18 June 2021. The TP AMC, the first such facility in an Institute of Higher Learning, is a fully integrated end-to-end manufacturing facility that features a "live" AI-enabled manufacturing line, capable of high-mix low-volume production. It also included a smart warehouse that has an automated storage and order picking system, and a nerve centre that provides real-time analysis and optimisation using data analytics. A Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) was also signed at the launch event between TP and Industry Partners Network which comprised key industry partners and trade associations such as OMRON Electronics, Fujitsu Singapore, Arcstone Pte Ltd, M8M Pte Ltd, PDS Pte Ltd and Swisslog as well as the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) and Singapore Precision Engineering & Technology Association (SPETA). The five polytechnics also signed MOUs with the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) at the event to deepen the polytechnics collective commitment to training and capability development in this field.

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and the Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Technology Crime Forensic Branch of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 24 Oct 2012. This partnership facilitated the sharing of knowledge and skills in digital forensics and investigations between the CID and TP, enabling them to build a better understanding and an appreciation of the operational requirements, encountered in actual crime investigations. Description: Under the Spring Singapore's Innovation Voucher Scheme (IVS), Temasek Polytechnic's School of Applied Science helped small and medium enterprises (SMES) developed innovative ideas to stay ahead of competition. Temasek Polytechnic (TP) had developed 31 projects which were showcased at TP's School of Applied Science Project Show held on 28 March 2012. Tongkat Ali and Diabetic-friendly cheesecakes were among the projects showcased. Mr Allan Albert Teoh, founder, AllanBakes and Dr Lau Peck Ting, Managing Director, Quintech life Sciences Pte Ltd shared on the benefits of IVS. The IVS had also benefitted the local traditional medicine industry such as H.W. Traditional Medicine, Wen Ken Marketing and Tai Tong Ah Co. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was inked between Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) and TP. Under the terms of agreement, NJUCM would provide expertise over three years to further strengthen ASc's capability in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLCP) fingerprinting. The event also saw the launch of a book titled "High performance liquid chromatography fingerprinting technology of the commonly-used traditional Chinese medicine herbs".

Press release. 15 Aug. 2016. Temasek Polytechnic and Philips Lighting to launch first connected lighting test bed in a tertiary institution in Singapore

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) collaborated with Philips Lighting to launch the first connected lighting test bed on campus. The collaboration empowered TP students, under the guidance of lecturers and Philips' engineers, to create connected lighting solutions for the campus, and develop innovative ideas in the application of smart lighting. The collaboration kicked off with a competition for TP students titled, "Light beyond illumination: the smart campus edition". The competition ran from 15 August to 31 October 2016, and the brief was for students to innovate smart lighting applications to drive greater energy efficiencies and to improve the campus learning experience. Philips Lighting invested S$100,000 to enable the top two winning ideas to be implemented on a test bed on campus. Description: The five local polytechnics, namely Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic, and Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen collaboration between educators and the FinTech industry. This MOU supported the PolyFinTech 100 initiative, launched in October 2016 to develop a strong talent pool trained in financial technology to aid Singapore in becoming a smart financial centre. Plans for 2017 included the innovation lab crawls, internships and workshops. Press release. 04 Oct. 2016. Temasek Polytechnic scientists set to boost productivity of SMEs with Centre of Innovation for Complementary Health Products

Description: Temasek Polytechnic (TP) launched Singapore's first Centre of Innovation for Complementary Health Products (COI CHP) in June 2016. Funded by SPRING Singapore, it was a one-stop service centre for CHP related enterprises. The key capability areas of the COI CHP included chemical and biological testing, glycemic index analysis as well as safety and efficacy studies. These were some of the areas that were showcased at TP's annual Applied Science Show held on Wednesday, 5 October 2016. A two-day International Conference in Analytical Science followed the Applied Science Show. Some of the related projects serviced by the COI CHP on show included: Herbal ingredient screening of GNC's liver protector for quality control and Rapid testing to identify antioxidant compounds in food, herbs and CHP. The opening of the show also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TP and its industry partner Eu Yan Sang Singapore. Mr Peter Lam, Principal & CEO, Temasek Polytechnic delivered the welcome address and Dr Lee Chee Wee, Director, TP's School of Applied Science gave the opening address. Dr Kalpana Bhaskaran, Glycemic Index Research Unit, Temasek Polytechnic presented a paper on "Winning the war on diabetes -- the low GI way!"

Description: Assistive Technology Library @ TP was launched on 13 November 2018 in the TP Library. The set-up was a result of a collaboration between Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and SPD, with support from Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA). Temasek Polytechnic students with special educational needs (SEN) would be able to test and try out various Assistive Technology (AT) devices onsite. They would also be able to loan them out on a short-term basis before purchasing them, or when their own devices require maintenance. The event also witnessed the signing of an MOU by TP's Principal & CEO, Mr Peter Lam and Mr Abhimanyau Pal, Executive Director, SPD.

Description: Menlo Worldwide Logistics (Menlo) and Temasek Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 27 June 2013 to establish a new scholarship programme for students pursuing careers in logistics and supply chain management. Under the programme, Menlo established four annual scholarships of S$2,500 each. These scholarships were awarded to selected students in their third and final year of study pursuing the Diploma in Operations and Logistics Managementat at TP's School of Business.
